The highly popular resort of Perros-Guirec lies to the north east with it’s three glorious beaches, however the nearest beach to the campsite is only around 3.5km to the west. This partially destroyed castles walls bear witness to it’s chequered past throughout the years and the regular programme of reenactments give visitors a taste of what life was like.

Perros Guirec is a popular seaside resort which lies along the pink granite coast. The town has some fantastic beaches which are not only good for families but also with those looking to try various watersports. The best beach for families is Plage Trestraou as it’s long, sandy and very well sheltered from the elements.
Lannion can be found just 13km to the south of Le Ranolien campsite. Although it’s the centre for telecommunication, the old parts are steeped in history. Many of the older streets are filled with pleasant historic Breton building. The majority of older Breton houses were made of timber and many in Lannion date back to the 16th and 17 centuries.
Chateau du Taureau
The Chateau du Taureau is a 16th century fortress which can be found in the bay of Morlaix off the north coast of Brittany. The chateau was build originally to protect the trade centre, Morlaix from attack but was later transformed during the reign of Louis XIV by the famous engineer Vauban.
