La Bourbansais Zoo and Chateau

La Bourbansais Zoo is set in the grounds of a beautiful 16th century Chateau just south of St Malo near to Pleugueneuc in the Ille et Vilaine region of Brittany.

Both the Zoo and the Chateau can be explored with the options of paying to see the inside of the Chateau, the zoo or both.

The Chateau is a stunning building which in it’s beginnings was a lot smaller than the building you see today. Greatly enlarged during the 18th century, the Chateau is well worth visiting to get an idea of how the other half once lived.

La Bourbansais Zoo is home to over 500 animals from the 5 continents of the world. Journey through the wonderful grounds to explore a variety of species including monkeys, giraffes, wolves, zebras,birds and big cats such as lions and tigers.

Daily shows are held during high season where you can see various birds of prey flying and attacking lures. A joy to watch, these majestical creatures will certainly bring some excitement to your day out.

Amenities at La Bourbansais include a shop and restaurant but there are plenty of places to enjoy a picnic if you decide to bring your own food and there’s even some bouncy castles for the kids to enjoy whilst you grab yourself 5 minutes to sit down and relax.
